In a nutshell, we believe Satan is a real being(a god) and is not the evil entity christianity claims. He is the god of Rebellion, individuality, creativity and music. We are Pagans in a sense, as we revere many gods, but hold Satan as the highest in relation to our lives. We perform rituals in his honor, and invoke his name in order to further Our goals.
We do not accept the one universal god of the abrahamic traditions(judaism, christianity and Islam) nor do we accept Jesus of Nazareth to be divine. We are pagans with a patron god.
We do not believe him to be symbollic(like the Church of Satan) or to be an extraterrestrial(like other groups). He is a being of acsended energy who connects to the earth and its people. He does not encourage evil, but does challenge the societal norm. He encourages us to "Follow no one and lead yourself".
We believe Satan is the last god left from a golden age of spiritual awareness. He has survived to the present due to christianity making him the enemy. Satan is not his original name, but it is a name we embrace as it means "accuser", and we accuse modern mainstream religions of hypocrisy, fraud and killing spiritual freethinking. In his day he was a mighty and important god, who represented the best and worst qualities of man.
Even in Abrahamic tradition, Satan is balance. Without the "evil one" how does a christian know what good is? Balance and the human spirit are his primary responsibilities. He tells no one to serve him, or bow to him. We show him respect, while not grovelling like dogs for the table scraps mainstream religions refer to as miracles. Instead we chase our dreams and create our own miracles.
He does not buy souls in return for a free ride, as many believe, but encourages us to make things happen, and will help us in exchange for our respect and reverance.
In his name, we encourage all to put themselves first. This is not to say not to care about others, but just not to sacrifice yourself for them unless the reward is worth it. You are the most important person in your life. You are the only one there with yourself, every day, from birth to death. Shouldn't you treat yourself with dignity and respect, rather than expend needless energy on random strangers and aquaintences?
This is the basis of our philosophy, and we adhere to it in our own life.
